Mesa Photonics releases a new ultrafast laser pulse measurement system based on frequency resolved optical gating: FROG Scan

Our optical delay line blows away stepper motor stages

  • High Speed, 1 ms response time
  • 150 nm precision (525 nm for 3.5 cm stage)
  • 200 nm short term repeatability
  • 50 ppm long term repeatability
  • 1 cm range, 3.5 cm available
  • Interface with LabView and other programs.
  • No backlash
  • No deadband
  • Bolts directly to optical table
  • Optics included
  • USB control
  • up to 30 mm beam spacing (15 mm nominal)
  • 15 mm aperture (for the 1 cm delay)

Our optical delay stage uses a high performance advanced voice coil-based positioning technology to provide positioning accuracy to 1 fs delay (assuming double pass) -- it can be positioned to anywhere in its one centimeter range to a precision of 150 nm.  No backlash, no hysteresis, and no drive trains to wear out as with stepper motors.  It’s fast -- response times as fast as 1 ms.  Control from LabView over a simple USB connection.  Complete with controller, power supply, stage, LabView interface and retroreflector as shown.

Because of the LabView VIs, the stage can be integrated easily in to your experiment  Also, the high speed allows you to take advantage of averaging and removal of low frequency 1/f noise in your data collection.

Shown on the right is the 3.5 cm version of our new, easy to use ”no align” design.  Just place stage directly in a beam to get the optical delay.  The original beam is minimally deviated.
