Mesa Photonics Receives Two SBIR Phase I awards from the US Department of Energy.

The US Department of Energy has selected Mesa Photonics for two new, $225,000 Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grants. One grant, “Practical isotopic analyzer for subsurface gases,” will provide new scientific research instruments that can aid in the understanding of soils and groundwater that are important to agriculture, hydrology, and climate.

The other grant , “Cloud droplet characterization instrument for small aerial platforms,” will develop a novel technology of measuring the cloud droplet number density and size distribution function primarily designed for small unmanned aerial platforms, which will help understanding how clouds in Earth’s atmosphere affect climate change.
